2013: A Year of Changes

Well I can't believe it but another semester has flown by ago. In just a short week, all finals will be completed and we will be packing out bags and heading for Washington! As I have started to take my finals and finish up my classes, I have been reflecting on this past semester. I had a great semester and I can actually say that I truly enjoyed my classes. I know that I chose the right major and that is a good feeling.

Also, I have been thinking about my time here at BYU-I and how fast it is flying by. I feel like it was just yesterday my mom and dad were dropping me off at college for the first time and a cute boy was walking into my apartment...a.k.a Kelsey :) It's hard to believe that we only have two more semesters here. It is a rewarding feeling!

With that, I have also been thinking about the upcoming year for Kelsey and I.... if you can't tell I have been thinking a lot lately:).... 2013 is going to be a big year for us. We will be graduating in the summer and moving from the college world to the real world! It is a scary feeling, but we are very excited for this next step in our lives. We are ready to move on from college and on to bigger and better things! I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for, there is going to be a lot of change and I couldn't be more excited! I know Heavenly Father has a plan for us and I can't wait to see what that is.

I hope that everyone is enjoying the Christmas Season and continues to do so, this is my favorite time of year so I am soaking up every second of it. With all the holiday traditions, I hope we can take time to remember the true meaning of Christmas, Christ our Savior. He came into this world in the most humble way and left the same, dying for our sins. I will always be truly grateful for that.

Thanksgiving Weekend

We have been out of school since Wednesday and it has been just a great break so far! We are always busy doing something and so it has been just great to be home together and spend time together. I feel so blessed especially this time of year, and we have so many things to be grateful.

I am so grateful for the gospel and all that it brings into our lives. I am grateful for my Savior and the atonement. I love my family and I am so grateful that I have them and they love and care for me so much. I am especially grateful for Kelsey and all that he does for me! I don't know what my life would be like without him.

With that being said, this year even though it was our second thanksgiving together, it was my first time cooking a thanksgiving meal for us so I decided to go all out! I cooked for several hours on Wednesday and then all morning Thursday. It was a lot of work but it was so worth it and I really enjoyed it! We watched the Macy's day parade all morning and it reminded me of my childhood! I loved it. Here is some pictures of our thanksgiving feast and turkey day

It's a tradition to make a cheese ball every year in the Bernard family. Here is my first!

Our first Thanksgiving I made!

Kelsey got a little crazy after dinner:)
Today we decided to brave out into black Friday and it actually wasn't bad at all! It wasn't overly crowded and we got everything we needed with good sales! Here is us out!

Then we came home and officially got in the Christmas spirit! We have a Christmas tree this year thanks to my mom:)
Putting it together!
Trying on the tree skirt!
We finally got it done:)
We just have three more weeks until we get to go home and spend the holidays with the family! That means there is only 3 more weeks left in the semester! We can make it through the last part of the semester! I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving!

The Beginning

I told myself when I graduated from high school that I was going to start a blog and I didn't. Then when Kelsey and I got married I said I was going to create a blog then and I didn't. So here I am over a year later and I finally did it, I am starting a blog!

So I guess I will just dive right in! Kelsey and I are enjoying the last year that we have in Rexburg and are trying to make the best of it! We both have been super busy this semester and are looking forward to Thanksgiving break where we can just relax and do nothing! I am making my first full Thanksgiving meal this year and I am super excited about it!

This semester has been pretty good for both of us. We are well over half way through the semester and we both still have 4.0's which is so awesome! I also passed 3 math tests that I needed to pass in order to get through the program and I am starting to prepare to take another big test. After this semester I will only have 4 more tests to take. Everything is starting to become real!

Other than school, all is well with us. We are still happily in love and enjoy each others company every day! We look forward to and live for date nights together, it helps to keep us going! Here are a few pictures of some of the dates we have gone on this semester!

In October we carved pumpkins with some friends!

We are also getting pretty excited to be going home for 3 whole weeks next month for Christmas! It will be super nice to be home with family and friends and just enjoy the holidays. We bought a Christmas tree and I can't wait to decorate it!!
