THREE Months

Well another month has come and gone & my sweet little Lincoln is three months old. He really has been such a good but very sleepy baby up until a week ago. One day he just woke up and was like yeah mom I'm ready to be awake! So, he cut out his morning nap and only takes one nap in the afternoon for a few hours. I can't complain, in fact I was just as welcoming to this change as he was. He is so much fun and I enjoy being his mama so much. I have the best job in the world. Here are the things we learned this month:

+ even better sleeper at night now that he is awake all day

+ wakes up once a night at around 4 for feeding

+ HATES tummy time, he probably hates this the most in life

+ love love loves bath time still

+ loves TV (haha)

+ really starting to reach and grab at things and gets frustrated when he can't get it

+ still is a mama's boy but loves when daddy comes home

+ is a real lover of hair

+ patty cake is his favorite game

+ still in 0-3 month clothes but getting close to growing out of them. So sad

+ has found his hands & LOVES to put them in his mouth & thinks he is pretty cool for doing it

+ loves Christmas lights

We love our little guy so stinking much! He gets lots of snuggles around here with mom, dad, grandma, & grandpa all living with him & all just adore him! Plus his Uncle Eric is here for Christmas so that means even MORE snuggles.

Christmas at the Bernard's

Every year I always mean to keep up with what we do during December but it never works. December is always SO busy for us, I can't believe I have a minute to blog about it before Christmas this year. Hey, I did better than last year, I did do a blog about our tree. This year has been extra magical with Lincoln in our house. I can't imagine how much more magical it will be once he knows what is going on! We have really tried to start some new traditions this year and it has been so much fun!

This year our new traditions were cutting down our own tree & the gingerbread village in Seattle. These are both traditions we will be keeping for many years to come! Although we had a HUGE tree this year and it was a pain because my dogs thought it was a jungle gym ๐Ÿ˜ฑ, we still want to cut down a tree every year. It just seemed to make the tree even more special than normal.

Dressing up and taking pictures of Lincoln has been SO fun! & Santa was great! Let's see how he feels about him next year

& of course as always baking, lots & lots of baking with a little gingerbread house decorating in there

I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas & can remember what the true meaning is, the birth of our Savior. I have pondered on this much more than I ever have this year and have tried to make our Christmas season much more centered on Christ.

Christmas in Seattle

I love love love Seattle. What I love even more is Seattle at Christmas time, I don't know why, all the hustle and bustle and Christmas everywhere just makes the big city so much more special. Today Kelsey and I ventured over to Seattle today with our little Lincoln & of course he did amazing. I don't think he cried once while we were out today. How did we get such an amazing baby? He is so good to us. I had just the perfect day with my little family & I feel so lucky to call them mine. I often feel as if I don't deserve them ๐Ÿ˜Š

Lincoln loved his first ferry ride. Had to get a family selfie in there!

These two๐ŸŽ… I mean come on. I could just eat them up they are so so cute together. P.S. I love my view while shopping๐Ÿ˜

We started a new tradition this year and headed over to the Sheraton hotel to check out the gingerbread village. Everyone should totally go! It's so worth the line. The people who make these houses are amazing and have so much patience. It was so cool & we can't wait to go back next year. Maybe next year Lincoln will actually be awake for it๐Ÿ˜‚

Cutting Down the Tree

Yesterday we were able to really get the Christmas season started. We went to cut down our Christmas tree for the first time. To make it even more Christmas-like, we woke up to a little bit of snow yesterday morning so it made it even more fun, except for the fact that it was bitter cold and windy. We got there and because it was so cold we didn't want to keep Lincoln out in the cold for too long so we kinda of hurried and picked the tree. I took Lincoln back to the car while they cut it down and it turns out that it was 10 feet tall when they got it down.. Yikes! I thought that it was only going to be about 7 feet tall. Once we got it in the house it looked even bigger but it is beautiful! I am in love with it & Lincoln just loves to lay and look at all the lights on the tree. Good thing we got such a big one so there were more lights ๐Ÿ˜Š Anyways, we most likely will never get such a big tree again but I am going to enjoy it this year! You have to have an oversized tree once in your life right?! Now we are cuddled up in the living room watching a Christmas movie to the glow of tree lights. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year ๐ŸŽ…⛄️❄️

TWO Months

This little hunk of a man is already two months old and is stealing our hearts more and more each day. His little personality comes out more and more as he becomes more alert & he seriously is the most happy and content baby ever! He is such a sleepy baby and he sleeps a lot still but just this week he staying awake much longer & we love it! Here are some fun facts we learned about Lincoln this month:

+ loves to lay on his back on the floor and look around. As long as Kelsey or I are close by him he could lay there for hours just kicking up a storm.

+ He LOVES to smile! It just melts our hearts each time that he smiles. It is just so darn cute

+ His favorite game is patty cake. It makes him giggle every time we play.

+ lately he has become quite the little talker. It is just so cute. Well lets face it, every thing he does is cute haha

+ not a fan of tummy time. Lincoln is okay to lay on his tummy for maybe 5 minutes and then he has had enough of that. He definitely lets us know too:)

+ such a good sleeper still. He goes to bed at about 9:30 and then sleeps till about 9:30 in the morning, only waking up once maybe twice to eat. It's such a dream!

+ the mamaroo is my best friend. Except for rare times, he is content to sit in it while I get stuff done and often falls asleep in it.

+ loves having grandma and grandpa living with him while his house is being built

+ is a total mamas boy but loves it when his daddy plays & holds him too

+ just last night he started holding up his head for more than a couple of seconds on his own. He was finally upgraded to sitting in the bumbo all on his own which he LOVES!

+ still loves bath time

+ has decided that he only likes his car seat sometimes

+ wears 0-3 months clothes finally! He is really starting to fit in all the clothes I bought him. We have his two month appointment on Monday and I am excited to see how much he weighs and what percentile this little guy is in.

We sure love our little Lincoln so so so much! He's got us wrapped around his finger

Lincoln's Blessing Day

Well it has been over a month since Lincoln was blessed and I am just now getting around to blogging about it. I wasn't a great blogger before having Linc and now I am even worse about it now that he is here. He is such a mama's boy and doesn't like me to put him down much so it is hard to get to blog. Anyways... Lincoln's blessing day was so special. Kelsey gave him the most sweetest blessing ever and I couldn't help but get teary eyed during it. It was also so special because he was the first baby on my side of the family to have a baby blessing. My brother and I were 8 & 10 when we joined the church so we were too old for a blessing & we are the only members in our family. Afterwards we had all our friends and family over for a nice afternoon together. It was such a sweet day & one I will never forget!

We got held up talking to people at church and everyone was waiting for us so we were only able to get one quick picture. After everyone left I tried to get some more pictures of just Linc but he was tired from the long day. He was so stinking cute in his blessing outfit!

Thankful

I don't do the whole post everyday something your grateful for. I think its great I just know I wouldn't stick with it so I just don't start haha. The holidays are my absolute favorite time of year and as thanksgiving is approaching this year, I can't help but have my heart over flowing with things I am grateful for. This time last year Kelsey and I were still recovering from my last miscarriage the month before. We felt beaten down and unsure our dreams of having children would ever come true. This year I get to take pictures with my FAMILY just because, I get to wake up in the middle of the night to feed my sweet Lincoln, I get to be a stay at home mom and do "mom" things, I get to change poopy diapers over and over again, I get to watch my husband be the best dad in the world, I get to watch Lincoln giggle over patty cake, I get to watch my mom and dad swoon over being his gma and gpa. While November is a month for being extra thankful, my heart is bursting for things I am grateful for everyday and it starts with being Lincoln's mama. It is so special to me and something I hope to never take for granted. I AM thankful for trials, especially our trial because it made me appreciate motherhood that much more.

Lincoln Photo Dump

Not too much to report. We have just been loving life as a family of 3 and lovin' on our sweet Lincoln all day everyday. I love being his mom so much! He is so sweet and his personality is just the cutest. He becomes more alert everyday and his personality shows more everyday! We sure love this boy!!!

ONE Month

Wait what?!?! How is my baby already a month old. It seems like it was just yesterday I was at the hospital giving birth to him. I love my sweet little Lincoln so so much and we fall in love with him more every single day. Even though I say it seems like just yesterday I was giving birth to him, it also feels like he has been in our life much longer than a month. He is such a content little baby & we are loving seeing his personality start to come out! Here are some fun things we have learned about Lincoln in the past month

+ loves baths

+ hates being cold so that means he hates having his diaper changed

+ still in newborn clothes

+ loves the car

+ loves being worn & mommy loves it too!

+ gets kisses from his brothers and sisters all day everyday & doesn't mind it one bit. Linc will be a
dog lover for sure

+ is a cuddler for sure. He loves taking naps with his mamma

+ loves to give little smiles at his mommy and daddy & make their hearts melt

+ has really good control over his head already

+ really good control over his eye movement & can follow things with his eyes

+ sleeps 4-5 hours at a time at night

+ loves to stare up at mommy when I'm holding him

+ gets the hiccups at once a day & HATES them

+ loves his binky & won't fall asleep for the first time at night without it. It drives us nuts sometimes when we are constantly having to get in and out of bed to put it back in!

Pumpkin Patch

Something that is so important to Kelsey and I is getting out and doing things with our kids. We want them to have memories of us, as a family, going out and doing things together. During the holidays it is especially important to me because it is my absolute favorite time of year. We were able to start making our traditions this weekend! We took Lincoln to the pumpkin patch I went to as a kid. Luckily it didn't rain until the very end! It was such a fun day!
